COMP Cams® Contributes To Allen Johnson’s 2012 NHRA Pro Stock Championship

Memphis, TN – Allen Johnson and his COMP®-equipped Dodge Avenger took home the 2012 NHRA Pro Stock championship for the Johnson & Johnson Racing Team.

Allen Johnson capped a stellar 2012 campaign with his seventh win of the season at Auto Club Speedway in Pomona, CA, in early November. The victory was the icing on the cake during a year in which he earned the title of NHRA Pro Stock World Champion for the first time in his career. Johnson & Johnson, owned and led by driver Allen and his father Roy, employ COMP Cams® camshafts in their Mopar-backed Dodge Avenger. The valve train experts at COMP® have worked with Roy Johnson for more than 10 years to find the right combination of lobe designs and components to help the team win final rounds, and ultimately, a series title.

“In Pro Stock there is no ‘magic cam,’ but rather a process of figuring out what the engine is asking for and providing the technology to accomplish what is needed to surpass your competition,” said Dean Harvey, COMP Cams® Performance Account Manager. “Roy and Allen Johnson, along with the rest of the Johnson & Johnson team, put the resources together that were required for this well-deserved championship run. I am personally proud for the team and grateful that Roy and Allen put their trust in COMP Cams® to accomplish this feat.”
